Honoring military spouses for their strength, many sacrifices and commitment to our community.

We are very proud to be celebrating our twelfth anniversary of this event in Hampton Roads, fifth annual Heroes at Home in the Fort Lee, VA region and second annual celebration in Jacksonville, FL!  This May the military and civilian communities will come together to honor ALL OF THE NOMINEES at a Heroes at Home Military Spouse Appreciation and Awards luncheon in each region.  At these luncheons, we will announce the finalists and name the Heroes at Home Military Spouse of the Year for each region.
 
NOMINATIONS & ELIGIBILITY:
Hampton Roads, VA: Any spouse of active duty U.S. military service member, Guard or Reserves, living in the Hampton Roads, VA region may be nominated.
Fort Lee, VA: Any spouse of active duty or retired U.S. military service member, Guard or Reserves, living in the Fort Lee region may be nominated.
Jacksonville, FL: Any spouse of active duty U.S. military service member, Guard or Reserves, living in the Jacksonville, FL region may be nominated.

Nominations will be accepted from any individual or group, civilian and active duty personnel.  A person may submit more than one nomination.  Employees of Pilot Media Companies LLC and sponsors are ineligible, but may submit nominations.
 
NOMINATION PERIOD Hampton Roads, VA:
February 1 - March 27 

NOMINATION PERIOD Ft. Lee, VA:
February 1 - April 10

NOMINATION PERIOD (Jacksonville, FL):
March 1 - April 24
 
JUDGING CRITERIA:  A panel of pre-selected judges in each region will review the nominations. The judges will consider the nominee’s volunteer efforts, fortitude during deployments/personal sacrifices, support for other military families and impact on their community.   Judges will determine finalists and Heroes at Home Military Spouse of the Year for each region covered by contest.  ALL NOMINEES WILL RECEIVE AN INVITATION TO THE HEROES AT HOME LUNCHEON IN THEIR REGION.

RESULTS OF PROMOTION/USE OF NOMINEES/WINNERS NAMES:  The winners for each region covered will be recognized as the 2016 Heroes at Home Military Spouse of the Year for the respective region.  Winners may be asked to make public appearances during the course of the year (thru May 2017).  Winners are responsible for any and all applicable taxes associated with prize receipt.  Except where prohibited, participation in the promotion constitutes consent to Sponsors’ and Pilot Media Companies’ use of photo, biographical information and essay content in any media including  websites and related publications without further payment or consideration.

GRAND PRIZE:
